This short video tells the story of Dai Chengdong and his late father, Dai Anlan, who was killed during the Japanese army’s invasion of Burma during World War 2.

Part of The Economist‘s new series, ‘Asia’s Second World War Ghosts’, this collection of stories attempts to highlight the lingering emotions that still survive to this day amongst the people of Asia who still live with the consequences of war.

The video above was shot by myself, with editing and production by colleague, DJ Clark.
