Opening Ceremony of New TV Documentary ‘Road to Carbon Neutrality’ China
Photos from last week’s opening ceremony for the China release of ‘Road to Carbon Neutrality’, produced for National Geographic TV.
China has committed to peaking carbon emission by 2030 and reaching carbon neutrality by 2060. It is an ambitious target, but the world needs China to achieve these goals if the global community is to prevent some of the worst effects of the climate crisis. Will they be able to achieve these goals in time?
In episode 1 of this 2-part program, I travel across China to investigate and photograph the steps the country is taking to try to meet those goals. I meet scientists at the world’s highest atmospheric monitoring station on the Tibetan Plateau, photograph nomadic herders fighting desertification in Inner Mongolia, plant trees with farmers in the forests of southern Fujian province and even learn to ice-skate with Olympic athletes!
The episodes will be released in 43 languages throughout 170 countries on National Geographic Channel soon and online. Check local listings and schedules for more details.
