This week a story is published on the Wall Street Journal titled, “Inside Uber’s Fight With Its Chinese Nemesis, Didi Kuaidi“, looking at the rivalry between the two companies looking to capture the taxi market in China.

While outside the normal scope of many of the stories I typically cover, I was approached by the Journal to illustrate this story through images of drivers who use both Uber and Didi Kuaidi, along with portraits of management figures at the latter company.

For those who are interested in technology and the changing influences taking hold of consumers and service providers, this is an interesting look at how mobile technology is transforming the lives of many in China, as it is similarly doing for many across the world.
